SEASONAL RAINFALL

AT THE 3rd HOLE

This project will culminate on June 30th, 2025.

The purpose of this exercise was to collect data from the same location using the same equipment for a decade to determine average rainfall per season. I took this project on to show a few dry years do not make a drought, as the talking heads want you to believe.

Having lived in this area, Middletown/Coyote Valley, most of my life, I was aware that this region, HVL, received much less rainfall than Cobb, Anderson Springs or Middletown, and based on experience, I determined the average seasonal rainfall for this location was around 30 inches per season and it appears I was correct.

We still have some time to go, but currently the seasonal average rainfall at the 3rd hole in HVLA for the past ten seasons stands at 29.3 inches.
