Maker: Otto F. Ernst Chaps, Batwings $1,250. This
great pair of chaps has nine conchos on each leg. Outside pockets, scalloped cut Otto Frederick Ernst and his family moved to Sheridan, WY. in 1900. He worked at several different jobs
including saddle making for George Parmeter.
In 1902 Otto and John P. Buckley opened the Ernst-Buckley Saddlery and
continued until 1907. Then due to a
disagreement, the partnership ended.
Otto bought Buckley's share of the business. Otto died in 1938, John Ernst died in 1952
and one year after Ernie's death, the doors of this famous saddlery were
closed in 1975.
