Since the inception of HVLUnited and the Forum, the theme has been to divide the community of
Hidden Valley Lake They succeeded in making the golf
course a wedge issue; they constantly cast doubt on the financial worthiness
of the association; and make unfounded accusations to cast doubt on the past
performance of any Director or employee of the Association. They have
presented facts dishonestly, such as; by combining the costs of the golf
operations and Food & Beverage into the same expense total and blaming it
all on golf. They also present the Bad Debt issue as if it were not an
accumulated debt that has compiled to this figure over the lifetime and they
never bother to separate out how much was actually the base of the debt and
how much is bookkeeping such as adding interest which is just a bookkeeping
figure and allows for a greater tax write off. And they claim it’s all about
money, “YOUR money” On October 24th they wrote
to their supporters: ·
This simply
cannot continue - HVLA has gone from horribly dysfunctional - to
absolutely broken. ·
Things are so
broken in this Association that even a Board of Directors consisting of seven
Abraham Lincolns would soon find themselves facing a recall. ·
We need to
transition to a more effective form of governance, and there are only three
necessary steps needed to accomplish this surprisingly achievable goal: Now I’ve read this and I’m looking at
our HOA and saying to myself, wow, we are in pretty good shape considering we
have been so mismanaged all of these years. How is it we
are still solvent and no one is in jail? Our GC is still playable, and
all of our other common areas and amenities are in reasonably good shape, at
least none are red tagged, as far as I know, so I wonder how our operation
would stand up to an incorporated municipality like Lakeport? We are similar
in population size and both in Lake County so how do we compare with the
County Seat? What do they,
the citizens of Lakeport, have we don’t have and how much more efficiently do
they operate their corporation? If you believe HVLUnited then HVLA
should show up as a complete and total embarrassment, right? We should appear
as a bunch of buffoons, a place where the monkeys are running the zoo. Let’s start with the Budget. |

So what do we at HVLA have? We have an HOA, that is area-wise, 3
times the size of the city of Lakeport, that provides
for its residents more services for less money for a fact! So how HVLUnited or anyone
else can arrive at the conclusion that HVLA has been mismanaged and broken is
just not sincere. It is fear mongering! You can spin it however you want but the
truth is the truth. Just remember, in our HOA you have
access to every aspect of the Association that your homeowners fees pay for;
whether you take advantage of it is your personal choice. Everyone who lives outside of our
gates, their environment is being subsidized by us and every other American
to some degree or another and they in general do not have access. The city of
Lakeport could not survive without other people’s money in the form of State
and Federal monies and grants and that’s when they tell you how you will
spend it too. Many Cities have gone bankrupt but we
are solvent and we should be proud of what we have accomplished. We should not be being divided for
some nefarious reason only the owners of HVLUnited know. I feel comfortable in saying, as long
as we stay the course and turn a deaf ear to those who seem to want to
destroy this HOA we will be successful in our future endeavors. We are living in one of the best
places in the State of California, let’s be proud of what we have. All this talk about “Broken” is a
load of you know what. We are not Broken and we have to spread the word. The
truth is out and HVLUnited needs to go.
Yes we can. Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukah Bill wink © December 2015 Further Reading: The question is NOT Who is HVLUnited But Rather
